Adoption Stories: Despite a vibrant online community, social media and AI resources, adoption continues to be an enigma, puzzle, uncertainty and often a source of anxiety and apprehension for many. Nothing assures a prospective adoptive parent like a real life snippet from another person who has been there before. Whether you are a parent-in-adoption, a professional, care giver, social worker or therpaist, we want to hear from you. We want your story to inspire others, offer a fact check or highlight an opportunity or challnege in adoption. What’s more, your contribution could win you a prize, as part of our 10th Anniversary Celebrations. So jog your memory and drop us an email with your story.
Skills: As an NGO we are always on a look out for Digital Marketers, Speakers, Fund Raisers, Designers, Brand Ambassadors, Story Tellers and Influencers. If you enjoy connecting with people, communicating with them across channels and engaging with them on Social Media – leverage your skills for a purposeful mission – #ReimaginingAdoption
Networking: Did you know that most employers do not carry adoption benefits at work, many organisations and forums actively discourage adoption, until it becomes inevitable or last choice, and very few communities are prepared to welcome a child through adoption in their families. Help us sensitise communities, employers, friends and next of kith & kin develop a positive identity in adoption for families involved. Please refer us to your connections in the corporate, communities and professional associations to demystify adoption, debunk myths and present a safe-cum-legal process to help and support a child in adoption. Volunteering: We have a runway of 6-8 projects in flight at any given point in time. Whether it is designing board books for children, offering inputs to policy makers, assuring a family or deeloping a database for trends in adoption – sun never sets on Families of Joy. We offer a battery of tasks ranging from couple of hours commitment, to a few days, few weeks, or even several months. Work as you please – in field or remote, offline or online, research or physical engagement – we welcome volunteers and interns across age groups in #ReimaginingAdoption with us.
